This is it .. my first blog post in FOREVER!     I have been out of the posting business but not out of the game...

 

I finally was able to play with the Lawn Fawn "pizza my heart" stamp.  It was fun adding ingredients to the pizza.. my husband like supreme pizza with pineapple.. he was my inspiration.

Update on Frames

I managed to finally straighten out the frames.  I waited and waited for my husband to straighten them out and it NEVER happened..

I was walking around Mike's one afternoon when I literally triped over these strips from 3M.  The are not velcro(sorta) they are velcro but instead of fabric they are platic teeth.  They work great. I have used them to put almost all my frames up around my house. They sell them in small and medium weight. they are a little pricey for me.  I still find it worth it - I don't have to search around for a hammer and nail and an extra set of eyes and hands.

Well - here is the final results. Nice and stright and better balanced than before. I have also added some pix to the frames.  I decided to have one pix each of my husband and I seperate and two pix of us together.  I like it very much. My bedroom is slowly coming together.  I should tell you that because of the frames - I have a huge urge to repaint the bedroom.. ssssh don't tell my husband yet!

 

The birdhouse

I was at Archiver's a couple of weeks ago and found this chipboard birdhouse from KaiserCraft.

I bought it right up... Never had a birdhouse before and I had many things running in my mind on what I really wanted to do to decorate.  I wanted it to be a "Luv" nest birdhouse...

This is the end result - not really done.. but I felt I need to hang it in order to inspire me to do more..

I really want to put my son's pix in the middle somewhere - kinda stating the two luv birds created one beautiful baby in their nest...

Just when I found some time to relax and work on other projects.. guess what happens...

Shimille finds another way to get my attention... She is offering a wonderful journal scrapbook class..

Photo Frame

Sometime early last year - I took a class at Archiver's.. The class was on decorating a large frame.

I took the class because I needed something to decorate my boring bedroom.. It's true what people say - that the bedroom is always the least "pretty" place in the house... and it's the most used..

My entire house is filled with some sort of decoration - either pictures, shelves, color etc.. but my bedroom.. plain... not one dash of color.. even our furniture is mismatched.  It happens when two people can't decide on what stays and what goes...

Month's after decorating my one frame - I recv'd a Pottery Barn catelog... WOW!! I had never seen such beautiful looking rooms.. I have kept the catalog in hopes that one day my bedroom will look like anything in the book. so, looking at one of the picture similar to this.. I decided that I could buy 3 more frames and decorate them and put two ontop of each other...

 

What a task that was... I bought the frame packages - they didn't have the flower cuts, didn't have the decorative paper, and the same stamp wasn't available anymore.. it took me along time to gather the material to finally complete my mission...

TODAY I HAVE FINALLY FINISHED... I had my husband hang them up - notice how uneven they are.. and I am done... Doesn't look nothing like a potty barn bedroom but it's better than before. I don't know what kind of pictures to put but that is something to worry about at a later date..

Great On-line stamp store

My new favorite on-line stamp store is The Greeting Farm.  I was reading a couple of blogs in December when I noticed many cards with stamps from this place...  I was particularly interested in the boy stamps used in the cards.  i went to their store - and fell in luv right away - the prices are affordable and the stamps a unique.  I rarely see stamps with boys in such a variety.  I luv it...

Their blog Splendid Stamping is also filled with stuff to read - special previews, preview buy days then they also post some stamp ideas roaming in their brain... I always look forward to their posts

I bought these in December - I was also impressed on how fast I recv'd them... I plan on using the football stamp for a Superbowl invite.

I hope everyone had a wonderful 2008 and are looking forward to all new adventures for 2009.  I am grateful that 2008 brought me a beautiful and healthy baby boy Gavin.  But, I am also looking forward to giving Gavin a baby sister or brother in the near future.. but until then.. I have to get back on the wagon and start doing my thing - scrapbooking and card making..

Though I was not actively working on making cards for everyone for every occasion.  My son did grant me some time alone to work on scrapbooking his 1st Halloween, making invites for his baptism and Journaling his 1st Christmas.  I will have some pictures to show in our coming days...

My 2009 creativity goals are:

1.  Take a pix a day of my son - pix taken from grandparents, aunts, dad etc...It's nice to get a point of view

2. Journal my son's daily activity or special moments..

3. Complete my pregnancy book

4. Complete Gavin's book

5. Start and finish my Rolodex project ( b-days, face pix and info).  The idea came to me when I was mailing out x-mas cards - I didn't know who my husbands people were. I kneww their face but not their names - so, I decided to create a Rolodex with their pix and a small bio...

6. Create b-day cards (variety) to send out

What a "wish" list... I hope I can make this happen

sssh baby sleeping

 

We have to be very quiet... my son is sleeping....

I havn't been posting any new creations because I was busy being pregnant and nesting and being a newbie mom (WOW!)...  My husband and I are still trying to get the swing of things..staying up late, sleeping for 10 minutes and changing diapers every second..but we luv it...

Having a baby opened up a whole different category for me - this little kid will be bringing alot to mommies table..I'm ready to start his digital scrapbook,baby announcements, baby cube and not to be forgotten halloween and x-mas cards, plus I have to complete my own maternity album...I only have a couple more pages to go..I plan to complete it before the next baby arrives (oh yea... I still want to have more kids).

Baby shower invites

Finally finished my baby shower invites - I made these for both my work and moms baby shower parties for ME!!... I saw the How to's on SCS and could not stop from making them into baby shower invites.  I have to apologize for the terrible pix - I couldn't seem to size them down correctly.  I did approx 70 invites and my mom kept asking for more .. I had to remind her that I was making them from scratch.  No running to the store to buy more.. It was worth the 375 faux stiches and paper cuts, and bows and glue... to see everyone smile when they saw my "art"... it was all for my son...

the baby shower invite - is actually from a template I pulled from a website called "Splitcoast Stampers" - I really recommend visiting the site.  You'll find many ideas.  I have attached the link to the template - the instructions will tell you everything you need.  All you have to do is add your own "zing" to it.. http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/flap_card/

 

Also, the stork was made by using the Cricuit machine - "New Arrival" cartridge.  I used a big circle background stamp for the inside of the invite.
